cart crawling tow
CART TOWING
MiR TOP / Applications / Cart crawling and towing
MiR equipped with a top module crawls under the cart,
Conveying the cargo together with the cart.
Various structures and loads can be placed on the cart, such as shelves, contraptions, and pallets, making it the most flexible application for any application.
Due to its high versatility, it is currently being introduced in many sites.
Application features
Introducing the features of MiR equipped with a cart crawling top module.
- 1
-
Ease of preparation for introduction
Easy to install due to simple application configuration
- 2
-
High versatility and customizability
Various workpieces can be handled by just customizing the upper part while the basic part of the cart remains the same.
- 3
-
Increased maximum payload■
More weight can be carried at one time than directly loaded on MiR
*Varies depending on the top module, cart, and load to be used.

Transporting parts and finished products between harness processing and control panel manufacturing processes
IDEC Factory Solutions Co., Ltd. has developed its own "cart-diving towing top module" and installed it on the MiR for the inter-process transport of parts and finished products in harness processing and control panel production.
In addition, by applying wireless communication technology, a system was created that allows MiR to call elevators on its own and move freely up and down the three floors, automating the transportation of parts and finished products between floors.
By designing the cart so that pallets can be placed on it, the finished product can be received by a forklift and loaded onto a truck. When transporting parts, the pallet can be removed from the warehouse by a forklift and loaded onto the cart.
In addition to reducing the time and effort required for transshipment, reducing the space for forklifts to move around also contributes to improved safety in the factory.

AMR has reduced the workload of employees,
Focus on value-added work
DENSO has introduced the autonomous mobile robots (AMR) "MiR250" and "MiR Shelf Carrier 250" to its US factory to automate cart transport operations.
This frees employees who used to walk more than 1km a day from repetitive tasks, creating an environment where they can focus on work with higher added value.
The system was deployed to all production lines within six months of its introduction, and the payback period was shorter than usual, less than one year. Employee awareness has improved, work processes have become more streamlined, and a change has been made to the company culture.
